The Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park is a 9,673-hectare (23,900 ft) nature reserve on the eastern edge of the Alps and the western edge of the Pannonian Basin. Spread across Austria and Hungary, the park protects an area with enormous biodiversity along the border. Many thousands of birds come here to breed and rest.

In this Collection, we introduce you to two Tours that lead through the unique landscape of Austria's only steppe national park: the Zicksee and Geiselsteller loop and a leisurely Tour from Weiden am See to Podersdorf. Both are unique adventures that showcase the region.

The national park centre is located in the heart of the Austrian part of the Neusiedler See-Seewinkel National Park on the northern outskirts of Illmitz. It’s a central information point for visitors and contains an informative exhibition, which is an ideal introduction or conclusion to a wonderful nature experience.

You can reach Illmitz and Weiden am See by public transport. There’s a train station in Weiden or you can take the train to Neusiedl and then take the bus (line 290) to Podersdorf or Illmitz. The protected area is also ideal for cycling.
